| Responsible for the safe & efficient conduct of cable lay operations and proper maintenance of related cable lay equipment |
| Principal Accountabilities |
| Train and develop the crew in the operation, maintenance and repair of cable laying equipment.Report detailed job activities to Barge Superintendent on daily basis.Ensure a complete and up-to-date inventory of available spare items/equipment is always maintained. Check that all the items and accessories required for the cable laying scope are available onboard the barge and ensure Keep a well-documented log of all accessories which are mobilized with cable laying equipment. Supervise the dismantling and demobilization of the cable laying equipment and its maintenance during the idle period. Maintain a log of equipment condition before-and after cable laying activities to record and indicate specific equipment that requires maintenance works. Liaise regularly with the Chief Mechanic to ensure the timely inspection and maintenance of equipment. Take necessary actions to establish a safe working environment. Compliance in accordance with Company codes and HSE standards. |
| Educational Qualifications, Certifications & Relevant Experience |
| Secondary (10 years schooling) & a discipline-specific technical diploma with 9 years of relevant experience OR Secondary (10 years schooling) with 12 years of relevant experience OR 15 years of relevant experience. |
